"I am President of the United States of American, and the buck stops with me." proclaimed Joe Biden accepting all responsibility of actions and results of the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Afghanistan. On August 26th, suicide bombers killed 13 U.S. Troops and 60 Afghan civilians outside the Kabul airport. Following this attack, President Biden ordered a drone strike in retaliation on August 29th.
Press Secretary for the Department of Defense, John Kirby reported that Biden's drone strike killed two ISIS-K "planners and facilitators" and a third person of unknown involvement. Days later, media outlets began reporting that the targets hit were actually Zemarai Ahmadi, an Afghan aid worker helping the United States and his family.
Yesterday, the Commander of U.S. Central Command, General McKenzie made the report confirming the innocent civilian losses saying "This particular strike was certainly a terrible mistake and we certainly regret that". The victims were as young as 2-years-old.
President Biden is currently on vacation and unavailable for comment.
