Last December, when asked about vaccine mandates, President Biden stated "No, I do not think it should be mandatory." He added "Just like I don't think masks have to be made mandatory nation wide." On Thursday, President Biden reversed his decision when he announced COVID-19 vaccines will be mandatory for all Federal employees, contractors that work for the government and all businesses with 100 employees or more.
This change of mind will affect 80 million Americans who have chosen not to get vaccinated. President Biden insisted "we're going to protect vaccinated workers from unvaccinated coworkers." The President continued "This is not about freedom or personal choice. It's about protecting yourself and those around you."
The President's executive order will give employees up to 75 days to get fully vaccinated or lose their job.
