Boston Mayor Kim Janey (D) will not require businesses to enforce COVID-19 vaccine proof on patrons. Mayor Janey explains "...requiring vaccines wherever we go, we know that will have a disproportionate impact on poor families in particular and communities of color." This follows New York City's announcement of mandatory vaccinations for indoor businesses and activities. Mayor Janey reiterated "We want to make sure that we are giving every opportunity for folks to get vaccinated. When it comes to what businesses may choose to do, we know that those types of things are difficult to enforce when it comes to vaccines."
